The Nelson's Head, June 2014, Shoreditch, London.

Taken from the series Pubs of East London.

The Nelson's Head pub was one of the most popular and colourful gay pubs in East London. Located on Horatio Street, it formed one point of Shoreditch's so-called 'gay triangle' which also included The George and Dragon and The Joiners' Arms. Owners Farika and Patrick opened for business on the first day of the UK's smoking ban, tempting customers inside with an eclectic jukebox and walls brimming with antique and modern bric-a-brac and paintings. Sadly, the Nelson's Head closed in 2015.
