"Ladies of Vogue" - recreating 100 anniversary US cover with drag queens!

Inspired by world of fashion and the famous 100 year anniversary US Vogue cover featuring world famous supermodels in 1992, some of London’s top drag queens gather for a group portrait in a West London studio The Worx.

Excited at being featured by Vogue Italia, the Ladies of Vogue (as they now call themselves) launched As Seen in Vogue, a regular night of performance and partying. After the success of this, the queens asked me if I would take a group portrait and the idea for recreating US Vogue’s iconic 100 year anniversary issue cover originally shot by Patrick Demarchelier was born.

The final image is a playful homage to the world of fashion and magazines.

Watch our behind the scenes video from the shoot where we talk about Primark, cheap glitter and my work.
